What Is BSE?

BSE (Bladder Stone Endoscopy) is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat bladder stones. During the procedure, a thin endoscopic instrument is inserted through the urethra into the bladder, allowing the urologist to directly visualize and remove or break down bladder stones using specialized instruments or laser technology.

This advanced technique eliminates the need for large surgical incisions and provides an effective solution for patients suffering from bladder stones, urinary discomfort, recurrent infections, or urinary obstruction. BSE is considered a safe and highly successful procedure that helps restore normal bladder function while ensuring faster recovery and minimal postoperative discomfort.

Symptoms of Bladder Stones

Bladder stones can cause a variety of urinary symptoms depending on their size, number, and location within the bladder. While some small stones may not produce noticeable symptoms, larger stones can irritate the bladder lining and interfere with the normal flow of urine.

Common symptoms include pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen, painful urination, frequent urination, difficulty passing urine, and a sudden urge to urinate. As the stone moves within the bladder, it may cause blood in the urine, interrupted urine flow, or recurrent urinary tract infections. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent complications and restore healthy bladder function.
