What Is URS?

URS (Ureteroscopy) is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat stones located in the ureter and, in some cases, the kidney. During the procedure, a thin, flexible instrument called a ureteroscope is passed through the natural urinary tract to locate the stone. Advanced laser technology is then used to break the stone into smaller fragments, which can either be removed or passed naturally through urine.

URS is a highly effective treatment option for ureteric stones and offers excellent stone clearance rates without the need for external incisions. The procedure is safe, precise, and helps patients achieve faster recovery with minimal discomfort.

Symptoms That May Require URS

Ureteric stones can cause significant discomfort and may obstruct the normal flow of urine. Patients experiencing severe symptoms or stones that do not pass naturally often require treatment through URS. Early intervention helps prevent complications and protects kidney function. URS is a highly advanced and patient-friendly procedure that offers an effective solution for ureteric stones without the need for external incisions.

Using state-of-the-art endoscopic technology and laser lithotripsy, stones can be accurately visualized, fragmented, and removed with exceptional precision. This minimally invasive approach minimizes discomfort, reduces recovery time, and allows patients to return to their normal activities much sooner.
